This 60-minute course will review literature-based indications and contraindications for the placement of dental implants into fresh extraction sockets. Through the use of several case presentations and videos, we discuss associated grafting techniques, instrumentation, extraction techniques, and armamentarium.
Learning Objectives:
✅Have a literature-supported understanding of indications and contraindications to place dental implants into fresh extraction sockets
✅Understand the techniques and use of various barrier membranes used to support the immediate placement of the dental implant
✅Be introduced to some aspects of CBCT interpretation and 3D planning for the placement of dental implants
Dr. Daniel Haghighi graduated from Case Western Reserve University, School of Dentistry in 1990. From there, he completed a one-year general practice residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center. He then attended a two-year fellowship in geriatric dentistry and medicine at University Hospitals of Cleveland. Dr. Haghighi maintained a medical staff appointment to St. John Medical Center from 1998-2021, where he also served as the department chair from 2006-2008.
He currently practices in Brecksville, OH while also lecturing extensively on the management of dental patients with complex medical histories and topics related to surgical and prosthetic dental implantology.
