Webinar AGD Code: 070| Webinar CE Credits: 1 | Credit Type: Online, self-instruction | Webinar Duration: 1 Hour | Webinar Date: Wednesday, September 16, 2026 | Webinar Start Time: 5:00 PM (PT)/8:00 PM (ET)

Advanced irrigation technologies have generated considerable interest in contemporary endodontics. However, their rational integration into clinical practice requires a clear understanding of the physical phenomena they produce, their mechanisms of action, and their true clinical potential.
This lecture will explore the principles of hydrodynamic cavitation and the behavior of irrigants within the root canal system. It will examine how the hydrodynamic forces generated within the irrigant may enhance its distribution and penetration into complex anatomical areas, as well as their potential applications during root canal cleaning and disinfection.
Based on the available evidence and relevant clinical scenarios, the advantages, limitations, and potential risks of these technologies will be compared with conventional syringe irrigation. By the end of the session, participants will have practical criteria for designing safer, more efficient, and scientifically grounded irrigation protocols.
Learning Objectives:
✅ Differentiate the main methods used to generate cavitation and explain their mechanisms of action.
✅ Identify the clinical applications of cavitation and hydrodynamic forces during endodontic irrigation.
✅ Analyze how these technologies may enhance irrigant distribution and penetration into complex root canal anatomy.
✅ Evaluate the benefits, risks, and limitations of advanced irrigation devices.
✅ Design an enhanced irrigation protocol based on scientific evidence, safety considerations, and the specific needs of each clinical case.

Dr. Rubén Rosas is a full-time Professor and Clinical Educator, as well as Chair and Director of the Postgraduate Program in Endodontics at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), León campus. He previously served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Endodontics of the International Dental Program at Universidad De La Salle Bajío.
Dr. Rosas serves as a reviewer for Clinical Oral Investigations. In 2013, he received Mexico’s National Endodontic Research Award. He has lectured extensively at national and international conferences.
Odne AG (formerly Lumendo AG) was founded in 2018 based on a pioneering collaboration between the Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology in Lausanne and Zürich (EPFL and ETH Zürich). Building on licensed breakthrough technologies from these institutions, Odne develops transformative endodontic solutions in close collaboration with leading dental KOLs and academic partners.
Following extensive research and scientific validation, Odne received FDA clearance for OdneFill and OdneCure in 2023, and for OdneClean in 2024. The company launched its U.S. operations through Odne Inc., introducing its technologies via a Priority Access Program at AAE 2024. The U.S. launch of OdneClean followed in 2025, with growing clinical adoption demonstrated through AAE 2026.
