Advancements in diagnostic technology are enabling clinicians to detect caries at a stage where intervention can remain non-invasive and biologically driven. This course explores how AI-assisted radiographic interpretation and transillumination-based imaging work together to enhance early lesion detection, treatment and monitoring. Participants will learn how to translate these findings into clinical decision-making that prioritizes preservation of natural tooth structure and promotes subsurface mineral deposit via guided hydroxyapatite generation. Through case-based discussions, the course highlights how early intervention can reduce traditional restorative burden and improve long-term outcomes in pediatric patients.
Learning Objectives:
✅ Explain how AI-assisted radiographic analysis improves detection of early carious lesions.
✅ Differentiate between radiographic and transillumination findings in non-cavitated lesions.
✅ Identify early enamel lesions suitable for non-invasive restorative treatment.
✅ Describe strategies to promote subsurface remineralization and arrest lesion progression.
✅ Apply the caries continuum to guide appropriate, stage-based clinical interventions.
